"HOW IT ALL STARTED"
First, "We just love dogs."
For three years our founder Linda Kay Wincapaw evaluated breeds that she might intend to embrace. Her focus began to center on a little known breed named bichon Bolognese. Extensive, intense research uncovered the breed's extraordinary intelligence and especially acute hearing. Finally, our founder acquired a charming puppy, named him "Lorenzo", and discovered that he had adopted her. The bonding and affection cemented the decision. Ms. Wincapaw said," Having a creature so gentle and sweet that needs to be near you at all times, was just delicious fun." A mature dog now, Lorenzo retains the "playful puppy" nature, and plays with each new arrival at the Kennel as though he were reliving his puppy hood.
Her first choice, from another fine Bolognese Breeder, educated her about "showing", ("I thought it would be fun to show Lorenzo, and to meet others who also show their dogs out of love.") Lorenzo soon became a Champion in the United Kennel Club (UKC) and in the American Rare Breed Association (ARBA). Even companions need companions, so our partnership flew to Idaho to find a girl for the guy. "Giselle" (GiGi) flew back home, bonded with the entire household, and quickly attained her championships also.
Breeding was a secondary intent for Ms. Wincapaw who enjoys petting, playing and showing. However, breeding was a primary intent for Lorenzo and GiGi. Well, dogs do what dogs do, especially when the headmistress is out of town, and the kennel boy isn't watching. The rest is history, and their offspring (Angelica - aka "Angel") just brought home Best in Show (Junior Puppy). Angel is as good as it gets for conformance, and she has that "show personality."
There's a new girl in town - "Niesha" - from yet another breeder's line. Another new male is being qualified for elevation to the WinMor breed stock. Clearly there's more to come. Dogs will be dogs. Especially when……
